Product Details

Let's take it from the topACS T1_Classic10

At the heart of the T1™ monitor is a driver configuration that delivers an incredible breadth of clarity and depth using a selected combination of drivers. At the top end is a combined unit providing specific drivers for the highs and mids engineered into a single unit with an ultra-compact crossover optimisingthe response for each, this is then combined with a clear and powerful bass driver to deliver rich and full-bodied bottom end. All of our driver builds are hand-made and individually tested by our technicians in Banbury to ensure that each configuration is a perfect fit for your earpiece.

Fit and flexibility

We manufacture our T-Series earpieces using medical-grade silicone to give you the best in both isolation and comfort. Manufacturing electronics in silicone may not be the easiest approach but we believe that the result is more than worth the effort. The shape of your ear canal changes with the movement of your jaw and having a flexible earpience not only gives you the obvious benefits of greater comfort but also helps to maintain a more consistent seal, particularly during vocal performances. Not only that, but using a softer compound means that your monitors warm to body temperature more quickly giving you complete comfort, flexibility and isolation in just a few minutes.

Tailored from top to bottomPaly Case3

Making sure that we use the right cable to deliver your sound is as important as every other aspect in the design of our monitors so we make sure they are just as well thought out. Starting with the best conductive core we then add kevlar threads for strength and flexibility so that we can be sure you'll get the performance you demand. Each cable is sheathed with a special finish that reduces the transmission of friction noise to the earpieces so there's as little interference as possible. The cable is then clamped at the Y divide with a custom pressed lengthened binder to give it extra strength where you need it most. Finally, each cable is finished with our custom-moulded right-angled plug offering high levels of resilience as well as quality with a gold-plated 3.5mm connector and iPhone compatible shoulder design.

All in the detail

It's the finishing touches that make every one of our hand-made monitors completely unique from a choice of cable colours to a selection of bespoke silicone finishes. Every monitor can be laser etched with lettering of your choice and is supplied in a customised rugged case to ensure your monitors are protected wherever you might travel.

I received my T1s earlier, and what can I say: the sound is absolutely phenomenal. They're a huge improvement on the T2's.

The bass is absolutely perfect: very balanced, tight, and powerful without being overbearing. This complements and completes the whole sound for me, and brings the sound to life. The bass also vibrates nicely (where required) giving an almost subwoofer-like "thump": something I've never heard from in-ears before, and they put my huge Beyer DT770s (and others) to shame in all aspects. Getting the T1 upgrade was a great decision, and I'm very glad I asked you about this!

Their soundstage is much wider as well, giving better space and ambience where appropriate; and the separation between instruments is excellent. There's an incredible amount of detail there - I've heard new effects/parts/imperfections that I've never heard before on my studio headphones (a selection of Beyers) or even my Genelec 1031 near-field monitors (partly due to the isolation, no doubt).

Their whole sound is very tight, rich, controlled, balanced, natural; and they're incredibly flexible. Often (as was the case with the T2s) earphones/speakers excel at one thing - often female vocals/acoustic/ballads etc. - while contrasting genres e.g. rock and dance are nowhere near as impressive. However, I've thrown just about everything at the T1s over the last hour and a half: jazz, classical, rock, metal, electronic, pop, dance, acoustic, live, and they excel at everything. Being a pianist myself, I always notice that pianos particularly tend to lose some of their magic and sparkle with in-ears (compared to full headphones), and can also sound harsh and too cutting, but they sound perfect here.

Firstly, I love these earphones, the sound is phenomenal! I can’t believe how good they sound! I’m not an audio expert, but I do listen to about 8hrs of music most days and encompass most genres from classical through to heavy metal and dance music and can hear how good it all sounds.

As long as the quality of the sound is top notch, everything I put through them sounds fantastic. They are so good. I can hear and identify every string being plucked on an acoustic guitar. I was also unaware that drums sounded as they do with the T1s, tight and unflabby!

I have found that the music needs to be at least 320Kb but Lossless is the preferred format. Although a lot of people say they can’t hear the difference between 320Kb and Lossless....I definitely can with the T1s. On the flip side, if the quality of the recording is low or the original recording has errors in it, you certainly know about it!

I have also found the cable to be the best I have used on earphones as they do not transmit any knocking or rubbing. Unlike some other people, I think the length of the cable is fine, as I can put my player in my trouser or coat pocket and there is plenty left to go over my ears, without tugging on my head. I am very, very happy with the T1s and would recommend them to anyone looking for high end monitors.

• Comments from Mal Herring, a customer that bought an ACS T1 Classic.

If you like listening then you'll love feeling it. Words cannot describe the feeling you get when you hear clarity that cannot be described. I was very sceptical spending such an amount on headphone but boys will be boys and I so I brought the best gadget I own.

Feeling like you're onstage with Queen or in the same room as Bill Withers while recording is amazing. Every note, every sound can be pinpointed in the room. No matter what's thrown at the T series you'll feel shivers as you wake to how good music can feel, no matter your taste, be that Prodigy or Pendulum to Duran Duran or Bob Dylan, Take it from me if you will - You'll never regret your first pair of T's!
